Professor Michael J. Caslin, III- GCSEN Foundation Board Chair, President & CEO, 2021 FULBRIGHT SCHOLAR awardee for 4P Social Entrepreneurship in Ireland.

Professor Caslin, Founder of GCSEN Foundation, brings a passion for the transformative power of entrepreneurship along with 3 decades of proven success in helping found, lead and serve social enterprise and business venture development ranging from youth and adult entrepreneurship education to sustainable community development. He has a broad range of experiences from his work with over 40 firms across 12 industry sectors as both an outside strategic consultant and an inside operational leader. Professor Caslin is recognized as a respected entrepreneur practitioner, faculty member, and Social Entrepreneurship thought leader through his work as co-founder and CEO of NFTE and his education and leadership roles with Babson College, Babson Global, Investor’s Circle, Rising Tide Capital, SJF Institute, STRIVE, and CUNY-Baruch College-Zicklin Business School.

  

J.C. Boggs

J.C. Boggs, Esq. – GCSEN Foundation Secretary / Treasurer

J.C. Boggs, a partner with the law firm of King & Spalding with over 25 years of experience in law and public policy. In January 2009, President George W. Bush appointed Mr. Boggs to the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, an agency of the World Bank and leading international arbitration institution devoted to investor-State dispute settlement. Previously, Mr. Boggs served as counsel to U.S. Senator William V. Roth, Jr. (R-DE) on the Senate Banking Committee and has advised clients on every major financial services bill in the past 20 years, including Gramm-Leach-Bliley, Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank. He also served as legislative and investigative counsel to the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee. Mr. Boggs holds an M.B.A. from Georgetown University and a J.D. from Catholic University of America.

 

Irene Lavado-Caslin

Dr. Irene Lavado-Caslin

Irene is an experienced business executive who has held a variety of leadership roles in the financial services and technology sectors. She is presently Senior Vice President at JP Morgan Chase & Company, where she works in global project management and Volcker Rule compliance. Her previous professional experience includes employment and consulting engagements with Paladyne Systems, Morgan Stanley, UBS, SEI, Capco, Advent Software and Golden Source. She holds a Ph.D. from the Moscow Physics Engineering Institute.

 

Bill Towell

Bill Towell

Bill Towell is an innovative and experienced entrepreneur and business executive. He is presently the Founder and CEO of Bad Donkey Social Media, LLC, a startup focused on social media technology and mobile platform management. His previous ventures include Lake Wind & Associates, LLC, a property development and management firm, and Roadhouse Marketing & Promotion, Inc., a consumer goods marketing agency. Mr. Towell holds M.B.A. and B.B.A. degrees from the University of Wisconsin.

 

Zara Salmon

Zara Salmon

Zara Salmon (Wheaton '18) has been associated with GCSEN since she was a student of the Meaning Maker Bootcamp in 2018. Since then, she has graduated with two B.A.s in English and Political Science, worked as a Communications Coordinator at a hub for Social Entrepreneurship, and now works in Communications for a startup home care agency. 

One year after completing the GCSEN Meaning Maker’s Bootcamp, Zara founded CRAVEInfused, a plant-based lifestyle brand that encourages people to incorporate more plants into all aspects of their lives. Zara credits GCSEN for teaching her the foundational skills of business in the intensive training that GCSEN provides. GCSEN is proud to welcome to her to serve on our Board.

 

Jason Reuben

Jason Reuben

GCSEN is delighted to welcome another alum, Jason Reuben (Babson College ’07, and former student of Mike Caslin’s Social Entrepreneurship class there), to our Board. Jason was our 2020 Social Venture Entrepreneur in Residence. He is Co-Founder of Gemvara and owner of Baguette Atelier, a Los Angeles custom jewelry design firm, and founder of Meet the Jewelers.

Jason graduated Magna Cum Laude from Babson College with a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship. He sits on the Executive Committee of the College Advisory Board for Babson College.

He is also City Champion and co-founder for Lemonade Day LA, the Los Angeles chapter of Lemonade Day, an educational program that empowers kids to become entrepreneurs.
