Advisor, Alumni Impacts
John brings his successful entrepreneurial background and his passion for higher ed teaching to GCSEN. Working for Bear Sterns in NYC after grad school, and after a few finance and accounting positions, he purchased his own franchise business, Unishippers, in the transportation industry. After 18 years of growth in classic entrepreneurial fashion, he sold it to pursue a teaching position at Marist College’s School of Management. Since then, John has taught Finance, HR Mgt., Organizational Mgt., Finance for Entrepreneurs, a Master of Public Administration graduate course, and Corporate Finance.
He received his Doctoral Degree in August 2013 from the prestigious St. John Fisher College, Rochester NY, using his franchise business experience as the framework for his dissertation. During his free time, he enjoys running, walking, hiking, and playing guitar, recently switching over to the ever-challenging classical guitar and classical music. John has developed and implemented a GCSEN alumni survey and looks forward to bringing new ideas and goals to the organization.
